Mary-Sue Masson specialises in observed comedy performance and narrative. She’s written and directed for many ad agencies and TV networks including Comedy Central and The BBC (where she trained at Elstree Studios in Performance Direction).
Mary-Sue is probably best known for her Haribo ‘Kids Voices’ campaign, she came up with the original concept, wrote and directed. ‘Kids voices Boardroom’ was named as the No.1 most impactful ad by Nielsen, and was short listed at Cannes 2017. The campaign has since gone Global.
Other accolades include her comedy spot for FLO. PERIOD DRAMA which won the Grand Prix £1m prize of the inaugural Sky Zero Footprint Fund. As well as her ground breaking work for THE CHAT all shot on iphones. The Chat is the UK’s first group messaging drama series, brought to life by an award-winning cast for Breast Cancer Now.
Her short film ‘Who’s The Daddy has recently been bought my a major network’, Mary-Sue is currently developing ‘Who’s The Daddy’ into a comedy series. Her second short, ‘Wake-Up’ is doing well on the festival circuit this year, so far has 5 selections. Mary-Sue lives in Hackney with her husband, two teenage sons and Irish terrier Daphne (Who terrorises all the other dogs in The Hood)
