Matt is EP and Founder of Dark Energy. His experience in the industry is far reaching – starting off as a runner and building a successful career as a heavyweight Producer and Head of Production. He opened Dark Energy as a future forward company offering a full production service across all mediums. Since opening, Dark Energy has consistently delivered award winning work. Matt and his team are recognised in the wider industry as a solution focused, creative group of Producers and Directors delivering high quality films within a wide range of budgets.

Lucy began her career as a receptionist at one of London’s leading film editing companies, quickly progressing to become one of the industry’s most respected Production Managers. During this time, she collaborated with renowned production companies including The End, Harry Nash, Bikini Films and Production International.

As a freelancer, Lucy worked with over 30 production companies, taking on roles as both Production Manager and Producer. In 2014, she co-founded Dark Energy Films with Matt, bringing her extensive experience and leadership to the company.

Highly organised and detail-oriented, Lucy plays a key role in overseeing the financial side of the business, applying her meticulous approach to every aspect of production. Despite her executive responsibilities, she remains closely connected to the creative process and can still often be found on set, managing productions firsthand.

Patrice has a uniquely impressive reputation built on producing iconic images has led to collaborations with clients such as Selfridges, Eurostar, Harrods, Westfield, Amazon, Financial Times, GQ, Rolex, The Observer, British Airways, Toyota, Land Rover, Heinz, McDonalds, Gaggenau, Godiva; working with Marcel/Intermarché on the most awarded food campaign in advertising history, Inglorious Fruits, Vegetables.

Regarded as one of the most experienced creative industry specialists, she has been part of many jury panels including recently D&AD jury president for the photography category & a black pencil judge for craft, Creative Circle gold jury for press & outdoor, AOP awards & this year’s London jury for the Gerety awards.

Having spent the past 25 years behind the camera & still shooting, Patrice has joined Dark Energy bringing all that shoot expertise to the new stills roster as executive producer. With a wealth of experience having produced many of her own commissions along the way across the breadth of the creative industries, we’re delighted Patrice is on hand to deal with any size & shape of stills production.

With over 14 years experience working in the advertising and filmmaking industry, Jonny is a seasoned Producer and Production Manager with a deep, well-rounded understanding of the creative processes. His career spans audio post, editing, music sync and film production. A founding team member at Dark Energy Films in 2014, Jonny helped shape the company’s production operations before moving into music sync, leading projects working as a Senior Music Producer at MassiveMusic and later at Felt Music. Now back at Dark Energy, he brings a unique blend of technical expertise and creative energy — both on set, in the studio and at the pub piano.

Katie has a background in criminology and social research and a passion for documentary-style and travel photography. Katie loves connecting with people and capturing stories, which led her to the production industry.

Harley is a dedicated production runner with a background in film studies and a strong passion for storytelling. With a keen eye for detail and a drive to learn every aspect of production, he’s steadily building a path toward his goal of becoming a director. Harley brings focus, enthusiasm and a can-do attitude to every project he’s part of.
