Dorothy works across narrative, documentary and theatrical modes of filmmaking, and her collaborative approach is often inspired by her protagonists' lived experiences. She tackles complex subjects head on, with an intimacy, warmth and an unflinching gaze.

In her commercial work, Dorothy has partnered with brands including Fitbit, Nike, e.l.f. and Bupa and and the charity Mind. Agencies she's worked with include 72 and Sunny and AMV Group. She specialises in stories grounded in realism and authenticity and can draw on her experience across theatre and documentary to find the best approach to every project. She's experienced working with both real people and actors.

In 2026, Dorothy was selected to be a Screen Star of Tomorrow and awarded the Arts Foundation Film Fellowship. She’s currently developing her debut feature documentary with Lena Dunham’s Good Things Going and Doc Society, and her debut feature drama with Ken Loach’s Sixteen Films and BBC Films.
