Locky AKA Lochlainn McKenna started his filmmaking journey by studying acting in his native Cork City, he worked as an AD, a producer and in casting before eventually finding his place as a director.

His work always has a distinct immediacy to it; often demonstrating Locky's skill of bringing poetic performances, nuanced details and textural aesthetics to screen.

After winning Best New Director at The Kinsale Sharks, he's gone on to be awarded multiple Vimeo Staff Picks, Nowness features and UKMVA nods. Most recently his short film 'Two For The Road' won Best Short Film at the Galway Film Fleadh, placing it on the long-list for the 2024 Oscars.

Locky has directed work for brands like Specsavers, Tesco, Guinness, Bulmers and Sky.
