Rob Chiu is a director known for emotionally resonant and visually distinctive films for brands including Porsche, McLaren, BMW, Nike, Nikon and Jaeger LeCoultre. His work favours atmosphere and emotional nuance over spectacle, with a cinematic yet grounded style shaped by a background in design, motion and photography.
His short films have screened internationally at BAFTA qualifying festivals, with support from Channel 4 and the BFI, most recently receiving BFI NETWORK production funding for his original script Chinaman. Rob recently served as second unit director on Romain Gavras’ upcoming feature Sacrifice, and alongside his commercial work continues to develop personal projects, including an ongoing film made from one second of footage recorded every day since 2016.
