'Sonja Phillips is an award-winning director working across film, documentary, commercials, content and broadcast. Her diverse work is characterised by an ability to capture authentic human emotions and infuse these through the narratives she weaves.

Sonja’s approach begins with the human connection between the subject and the audience; building bonds with her cast whether celebrities, actors or real people.  She has worked in war zones and other dangerous locations and filmed extensively with vulnerable people allowing them to tell their stories, sometimes for the first time out loud.

This empathetic style brings genuine feeling to the heart of every story and her work always radiates warmth and beauty even when it brings a tear to the eye.  

Her short films have won numerous awards, including best film at LA shorts Fest, Rhode Island and the audience award at Sapporo, leading to being long listed for the Oscars.'
